Today was the day of my trip to Austria, exacting to Linz! Close to Linz you can find the city Puchenau and that’s very Madeleine lives :-)! Right at the beginning something went wrong, of course! It never happened to me during my travels in the States but today, I missed my train. That sucked! But I could find another good train connection so I just arrived an hour later or so.
Madeleine picked me up at the train station and as always we were just very happy to see each other! Quickly we went to her apartment and got ready for a party night. It was a lot of fun! The party was outside and located at a castle on top of a mountain. We had a gorgeous view over the city, just beautiful. The end of the night wasn’t that beautiful. As we’re on the way back to the car, we couldn’t find it. And quickly we realized that it got towed away (with no reason as we found out later that night/morning)! So we called the Police and found out where the car is, found a nice girl who drove us to the city and from there we took a cab to the towing service! Crazy night! We didn’t need to pay right away, nobody was there and we just took the car, drove home and informed the police that we took the car (not that the towing service calls them and says it’s stolen or something)! Anyway, it was a bad end of a nice night and it remembered me a lot on the night as I was out in Cambridge and my car got towed away. Not a nice feeling!

It’s my first few day off since a period of just working and working. So I’m even more exciting that my Dad, my brother and I went to Munich today. The trip was planned ahead of time since we got tickes for the Allianz Arena (a big Soccer Stadium, home from FC Bayer Munich) to see the Audi Cup. But I was even happier to see my sister – it was the first time that we met after her honeymoon, of course there was a lot to talk and to tell ;-)!
Through the bad traffic we missed the first halftime of the first game. But since it wasn’t the team we cheered for, it wasn’t too bad and we could start the game with Beer and Hot Dogs! Almost a little American *lol*! Later we saw the soccer game FC Bayern Munich against Manchester United. The winning time Bayern Munich solved the final goal in penalty kick! Very great game – I missed the most famous German sport. All in all it was just a great day. Tomorrow morning we’ll drive to the training camp of Bayern Munich, hopefully we’ll see some of the players as the train and later they might even give some autographs. Let’s see what happens :-)!

OMG! I don’t even know where to start! I had one of the best weekends in my life! I had no clue of all the nice surprises my friends planned for my Birthday. Let me try if I can start at the beginning.
The plan was that Madeleine is coming to Dresden and that we celebrate together my birthday – all the other ones said that they couldn’t make it! So Madeleine came sometime around 8pm and as we went to her car to get all her stuff, suddenly Marcel was standing behind me. It was crazy – I just didn’t expect that to happen. All together we went to ‘Dam Malter’ where we meet Danilo and Nadja. Together we enjoyed fireworks and some drinks. For the next morning we planned a nice relaxing breakfast and a trip into the city to show Madeleine around. Saturday came and as we got slowly ready for our sightseeing trip, I opened the apartment door (for the weekend we stayed at my sisters apartment) and there were Ruth and Rike standing. OMG!!! I just started screaming and tears were running over my face. It was just a great moment. I never thought that I would see all my loved ones so quickly again – it was an amazing surprise! All together we went downtown and made a sightseeing tour. It was pouring but it just didn’t matter – it was just important that we’re all together. Later that day we went back home, got ready for the night. I still had no clue what else was planned for my Birthday! We drove to the ‘Neustadt’ the party district in Dresden. Together we went to Espidas a Mexican Restaurant. Since we girls got to know each other in the States we all enjoy Mexican food, so it was a great idea of them! Next thing I notice, somebody is holding his handy before my eyes and I had to find out who it is. But hey, I was right it was Sebastian. He came from Switzerland just to celebrate with us, how awesome. Haven’t seen him in months! After dinner we went to a Bar, smoked some Shisha’s, had a few drinks and met some more friends (even Mandy & Stefan came from Leipzig). At 12am they all sang ‘Happy Birthday’ for me – how embarrassing and nice at the same time. I mean we’re not in America where this is normal, haha! Anyway we had a good time and went to a club a bit later. Together we just forgot everything around us and danced until the morning came! We had a blast and probably way too many drinks. All in all it was one of the best Birthdays I ever had!!! And I’m very thankful for all my lovely friends. I can’t life without them! Thanks to Sebastian, Danilo & Nadja, Mandy, Ruth, Rike and especially to Marcel & Madeleine who organized that great and unforgettable weekend. I love you guys!!! You’re the best friends ever!!

Today way a good day than I went to another sample work. This time I went to La Play – The Beach Club Leipzig. They are not really looking for more help but I just insisted that they are giving me a change. Well, my engagement paid off and I got this job as well! It’s just great!
The two jobs are very different from each other. The waitress job is at a Café and Restaurant, most likely older people (grandma and –pa) and maybe from time to time some older man who are coming for some beers. And the job at the beach club is pretty cool: just young people, I would guess from 18 to maybe 30/35 – of course also some people who are older but you still think they are in there twenties or thirties *lol*! At the La Playa I do more bartending, people need to come to the bar to get their drinks and it’s not like a normal Bar because we don’t serve the drinks to the tables. And just the ambiance is amazing: the whole place is made like a beach in the middle of the city. There is sand everywhere, there are three beach volleyball places, a pool and people hang out on canopy beds or in typical canvas chairs. It’s such a beautiful place. Every time I go to work now, I’ll think I’m o vocation. How awesome is that?
Jealous? Than you need to stop by, visit me and I’ll make you a fantastic long drink or serve a cool beer ;-)!

Since the wedding is over and Tina and Alex went on their honeymoon, I’m back in Leipzig.
Living with my parents is weird too – I haven’t lived with them in over 5 years. But it just doesn’t make sense to move in an own apartment now than for university I need to move anyway! So I just can hope that the next 3 months will be over quickly and living ‘home’ will be alright.
The last few days I spend with writing applications for some other universities and also applying for some small jobs. It’s pretty stressful and I won’t hear from the schools until the end of august! And I hate waiting!! Anyway, I went to a Restaurant where they are searching or a waitress – just temporary over the summer months. And they invited me for some sample work (not sure if you Americans call it like this) but today was the day and I did my first waitress job ever! Kind a crazy, I know! But it went pretty well. I didn’t break any glasses, they guest very satisfied and I learned how to draw beer and how to carry three plates! Very funny stories but I’m very sure there are more to come – because I got the job! Juhu!! I’m very happy about this because I get bored so quickly without work, just being home doing nothing isn't my thing. And of course I can need the money too! They don’t pay much though but I thought I can start with this on until I might find something better to do!
