06/21/09

Since I’m home I can’t take a break from celebrating – yesterday we already had the next pre-wedding party from Tina and Alex. We Germans called “Polterabend” which means the Eve-of-Wedding Party. But it’s not quiet true, since the wedding will be next weekend but it was fun anyway.
This time we were around 60 to 70 people: family, friends and co-workers. The couple and their parents organized a huge BBQ/cookout on the property the will build a house in a few years. Everything was just great and once again they had to do some funny games and got already some nice gifts. It’s an old habit to bring old dishes and throw them on the ground. The shard (the broken pieces of the dishes) should bring luck to the couple. I personally love this habit, it brings just so much fun with it and by the time the couple tries to clean up everybody is just bringing more dishes. Well, if you got married you need a lot of luck!!
Everybody had a blast and I got to see most of my family after two years – kind of strange but well, sooner or later it would have happen anyway.
